Background: Geneva Global Ethiopia (GGE)

Geneva Global is a U.S.-based international charitable organization, nationally registered under Civil Society Agency License No. 1724. Since 2011 G.C., GGE has been implementing the Speed School/Accelerated Education Program in Ethiopia with the objective of helping out-of-school children transition into formal education across ten regions nationwide.

Currently, GGE has launched an Education in Emergencies (EIE) response program to address the acute needs of vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in Dembecha and Jabi Tehnan Woredas of West Gojjam Zone. Amhara Region.

We hereby invite eligible, qualified, and technically competent contractors with valid licenses to bid for the construction and establishment of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) within targeted schools’ compounds.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide the following:

  • Valid and renewed construction license (minimum Level 5)
  • VAT Registration Certificate
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN) Certificate
  • Recent VAT declaration
  • Valid tax clearance certificate
  • Evidence of having completed three (3) or more similar temporary learning space constructions in the region

Payment Terms

In line with Ethiopian construction practices and laws (Proclamation No. 649/2009 and relevant Civil Code provisions):

1. Advance Payment: 20% of the total contract price upon signing the agreement.

2. Second Payment: 20% upon reaching 50% progress of construction works, verified onsite by GGE’s representative.

3. Final Payment: 60% after full delivery and satisfactory completion of the works, certified by GGE’s representative.

Submission Requirements & Conditions

  • Handover of completed work must be completed within 25 consecutive days from the date of agreement signing.
  • All documents must be stamped, sealed, and submitted by the deadline dateand time at the Geneva Global Bahir Dar office.
  • Contractors must provide evidence of three or more similar temporary learning center constructions in the region.
  • Financial proposals should include one original and one copy in a sealed envelope, stamped and sealed with wax.
  • Technical proposals should be submitted in a separate sealed envelope.
  • Bid security: 5% of the total quotation (before VAT) in the form of a CPO only, valid for 10 days (cash or insurance not accepted) in a separate envelope.
  • GGE reserves the right to cancel the quotation in whole or in part.

Important Dates

  • Bid Closing Date: August 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM (local time),
  • Bid Opening Date: August 27, 2025, at 8:00 AM (local time) at Geneva Global Bahir Dar office, in front of the bidders.
