CALL FOR EXTERNAL AUDITORS

Christian Aid Ethiopia was formally established in 1997 and registered with the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice and the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission in 1999, and subsequently re-registered in 2011 in accordance with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation.
Our programmatic work focuses on Climate Adaptation and Resilience, Gender Justice, and Inclusive Markets, with cross-cutting themes in Peacebuilding, Humanitarian Response, and People-Centered Advocacy for Accountable Governance.
Christian Aid Ethiopia follows partnership approach (working through local and international organizations) to implement its programs and projects. The Organization believes that indigenous or locally based Non-Governmental Organizations are best placed and the most able to work with the local community for a better future.
In response to the government regulations which requires Civil Society organizations to announce a call for the audit firm on newspaper and for the sake of transparency in the process, it has been necessary for Christian Aid Ethiopia to make this announcement. Therefore Christian aid Ethiopia is looking for an eligible audit firm to conduct audit for organization for the year ended December 31, 2025.
Objective of the Audit
The purpose of the auditing is to conduct financial audit of Financial Statements of the organization for the year ended December 31, 2025, as per the guidelines required by federal democratic republic of Ethiopia (EFDR) Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) and Agency of civil society organization (ACSO)
The Financial statements ‘preparation is based on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) requirements. Therefore, qualification audit Firm should fit to conduct audit these financial statements.
To this end, those Chartered certified (qualified ) Audit Firms & whose name exists on the list from AABE are invited to participate having produced the following pertinent information.
- Qualifications and experience of the firm’s audit team;
- Copy of Renewed trade license issued by the relevant authority;
- Evidence of VAT registration and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);
- Tax clearance certificate for the current fiscal year; Proof of classification as a higher-grade audit firm by relevant authorizing agency;
- Documented evidence/s of working experiences and a proven track record of successfully conducting auditing of IPSAS-based financial statements for similar organizations;
- Estimated timeframe to complete the audit; and
- Proposed audit fee inclusive of VAT to be charged for the audit service
- The Audit firm is expected to submit their technical and financial proposal in separately sealed envelopes on or before the closing date.
Interested audit firm is requested to collect the detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) by contacting BBehailu@christian-aid.org or TMena@christian-aid.org and use it as the basis for preparing their technical and financial proposals.
Applications closing date: 7 working days from the date of this announcement in newspaper and other media. Applications should reach our office before the deadline by presenting relevant and sealed envelopes in person or using the organization’s P.O.BOX. Please note that proposals submitted via email will not be accepted.
Proposals will be accepted only during office hours from 3:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. local time.
