REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

PREQUALIFICATION AND REGISTRATION OF STRATEGIC

PARTNERS FOR THE SUPPLY OF DISTRIBUTION MATERIALS

1. Introduction and Background

The Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) invites eligible and qualified manufacturers, to participate in the Prequalification and Registration of Strategic Partnership Suppliers for the supply of Electrical Distribution Materials.

2. Purpose of the EOI

The EOI Aims:

• Is to establish a strategic Partnership Supplier register for Qualified Manufacturers according to listed Procurement Categories, Technical Capability, Relevant Experience, Financial Capability and Other Applicable pre-qualification requirements.
• Successful suppliers shall be registered for participation in applicable procurement activities for a period of two (2) years, subject to the applicable procurement requirements and EEU’s continuing assessment of supplier capability and performance.
• Following establishment of the Strategic Partnership Supplier Register, EEU may invite registered and qualified suppliers to participate in individual procurement activities in accordance with the applicable procurement method and requirements.

3. Scope of Supply;

The Strategic Partnership shall cover the supply of:

• DMV underground power cables and associated accessories (Three & Single Core CU/AL from 70mm2 up to 400mm2 + with Plugin type kits and Cold Shrink Kits)
• Low Voltage Underground Power Cables (3*25/16MM2 upto 3*300/150MM2 COPPER
• Battery Energy Storage(BESS)
• All Aluminum Alloy and All Aluminum Conductors (AAC/AAAC 95mm2/50mm2)
• Semi Insulated Overhead Conductors( XLPE 150mm2 upto 210mm2)
• Low Voltage Ariel Bundled (ABC) Cables(3*95mm2 + 70mm2)
• Concentric Cables (1*4/4mm2, 1*6/6mm2, 3*10/10mm2 & 3*16/16mm2)
• Power Transformers(Two and three winding)
• Current and Voltage Transformers
• Switchgear Materials (Load break Switches, Autoreclosure, Fault passage indicators, Switching Stations)

4. Eligible Applicants

The invitation is open to:

1. Only Original manufacturers of Each Item or Combination of them.

2. Applicants shall demonstrate their capability for the specific category of products for which they seek registration. A Complete list of Items under each Category Shall be provided by EEU.

Registration Requirements:

Interested Manufacturers must provide the following information to demonstrate their qualifications:

1. Company registration & Business license and related documents

2. General experience of Minimum 5 years in Manufacturing Design and Supply of the equipment Category interested to be registered.

3. Export experience of three contracts with a sum of at least USD 20 million for similar goods that are substantially or fully completed for each Category.
