Invitation of Competitive Bid for External Auditors to Akufada Micro-Finance Institution S.C

Akufada Micro Finance Institution Share Company is a Share Company registered by the National Bank of. Ethiopia according to Micro- Financing Business Proclamation No. 626/2009 and (amendment) Proclamation No. 1164/2019. Its business license was issued August 1/2022 With License Number MFI/055/2022. It was founded by 1886 shareholders and officially commenced its operation on October 22, 2022. The institution is making efforts to establish a reliable and transparent financial system for its shareholders, customers, government regulators and any internal or external information users.

Akufada Micro-Finance Institution’s Head Office is located in Amhara Regional State in Debre Birhan City Administration and the institution currently has 50 (fifty) Branches in Seven Regions of the Country. The Regions in which Akufada operating is at Addis Ababa, Central Ethiopia, Oromia, Amhara, Sidama. Diredawa and South West Ethiopia.

The Institution wants to invite a certified and experienced Auditor or Audit Firm for 3 (three) consecutive years (2026-2028 G.C accounting period) subject to renewal on each accounting year. Bidders must fulfill the requirements outlined in the Appointment of External Auditor of a Micro Finance Institution Directive No. MFI/37/2024 issued by National Bank of Ethiopia.

Requirements include, but are not limited to: –

1. Bidders must have a renewed Trade License and Registration Certificate from the AABE (Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia), TIN and VAT registration certificates;

2. tax clearance certificate for 2018 E.C.;

3. The firm’s organizational profile;

4. IFRS training certificate of the audit manager and the proposed audit team members;

5. Evidence of previous experience in providing audit services in similar organizations.

6. And should also fulfill the requirements stipulated under the Appointment of External Auditor of a Micro-Finance Institution Directive No. MFI/37/2024.

Qualified competitive bidders who fulfill the required criteria are invited to submit a detailed technical proposal along with the profiles and work experiences of the audit manager and audit team members, as well as financial proposal.

Bidders should submit both technical and financial proposals in a separate sealed envelope to Akufada Micro-Finance Institution Wosen Branch at Addis Ababa, Wosen, near the NOC Fuel Station, with in 10 (ten) Consecutive days starting from the issuance of this notice on this newspaper.

Bids will close at 10:00 AM and will he opened at 10:30 AM on the closing date in front of the bidders or their representatives.

Akufada Micro-finance Institution reserves the right to accept or reject all or parts of the bid at any time without assigning any reason or reasons whatsoever.
