1. About the Company:

The Amhara Metal Industry and Machine Technology Development Enterprise /AMIMTDE/ is established by regulation No. 127/2014 under the provision of Article 58; sub-article 7; of the revised national constitution of the Amhara national regional state. This enables the achievement of the development goals of the industrial sector in the region. With the view to support the development, it has been found necessary to accelerate the industrialization transformation of the region by getting rid of investment limitations, the inadequacy of productivity, least technological capability, poor supply of production inputs, weak commercialization confronted on the major manufacturing industry components and thereby filling the gap of the market.

Therefore to achieve the above vision and goal by using the existing facility the No-bake molding line and the Shell molding line to smelt ferrous and non-ferrous materials, which is the enterprise seeking a highly experienced and skilled Foundry or Metal Smelting Chief Expert to lead and manage the foundry operations. The role requires technical expertise in pattern preparation, mold making, metal melting in casting, and heat treatment processes to ensure product quality, safety, and production efficiency.

2. Objective of the Assignment

The objective of this RFP is to invite qualified individual professionals or consulting firms with proven experience in foundry management and metal smelting to provide technical leadership, operational guidance, and capacity building to AMIMTDE’s foundry department six month contract agreement Chief Expert.

3. Scope of Work

The selected expert will be expected to:

• Lead and supervise day-to-day foundry and smelting operations.
• Pattern and mold making operation including gating design
• Review and improve existing metal melting and casting procedures.
• Introduce efficient metal smelting technologies and safety practices.
• Provide on-the-job training for technical staff for mold preparation with gating design, pattern making, and metal melting processes.
• Ensure high-quality production aligned with industrial standards of casting parts.
• Assist in improving furnace utilization, raw material control, and waste reduction.

4. Eligible applicants must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

• BSC or MSc in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field./ Or Specializations for this area with through experience.
• Minimum 15-20 years of professional experience in métal smelting or foundry management.
• Proven experience in managing casting operations and industrial furnaces.
• Ability to provide technical training and supervision.
• Strong communication, reporting, and advisory skills

6. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Technical approach and understanding of the scope (40%)
