Research on Economic Decision Making on Menstrual Health – Consultancy Service
Under the Sang Pour Sang Menstrual Health (MH) Research Grant, PSI Ethiopia seeks to commission a qualified consultancy firm to conduct a rigorous mixed-methods study examining the economic and gendered determinants of menstrual health product purchasing decisions among women and girls in Ethiopian households.
The study will be conducted in four selected woredas (two each in Oromia and Somali regions) in close coordination with the Ministry of Health and relevant regional stakeholders. These regions represent diverse rural and pastoralist contexts where economic vulnerability and gendered power dynamics may significantly influence purchasing autonomy and product access.
Therefore, PSIE hereby invites all eligible and qualified firms to participate in-and respond to this RFP through submission of a cover/motivation letter, a company profile, a technical proposal, a financial proposal, and documents of eligibility. Applicants should be: Legally registered organization: Have renewed and valid registration documents & statutes with:-
- Proven experience in mixed-methods public health or market systems research
- Strong experience in menstrual health, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), gender, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Market systems, and women’s economic empowerment interventions.
- Experience conducting research in Ethiopia, particularly in Oromia and Somali regions.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capacity
- Demonstrated experience in econometric analysis, affordability research, or price/market analysis.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and policy dialogues
- Ability to deploy female data collectors fluent in Afan Oromo and Somali languages in Oromia and Somali regions, respectively.
- Proven capacity to manage data quality assurance processes and ensure ethical and safeguarding compliance during fieldwork.
