INVITATION to OPEN TENDER FOR Food Items
LOCATION: SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGE’S Mekelle
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 08 April2026

SOS Children’s Village, CVW Funded Tigray Humanitarian Response Project, wants to procure wheat, pulse and cooking oil for food with a detailed specification listed here below & invites suppliers who fulfill the following legal preconditions to submit a tender as per the varieties of the details, instructions to bidders, and General Terms and conditions of purchase as described hereunder:

Therefore, those who only fulfil the following mandatory criteria below are cordially invited to participate in the open bid.

1. Possessing a legal renewed trade license in the provision of food items

2. Those who have the newly issued receipt with QR code

3. These who have audited report of 2017 E.C

4. These who have 2018 E.C tax clearance

5. Providing TIN certificate’s visible copy and a VAT registered who have a declaration of 2026G.C /2018 E.C (if legally exempted, a witness letter from concerned gov’t office needed)

6. Those who can provide a legal formal witness letter that the supplier has registered license in the fiscal year to provide the listed food items services

7. Providing all necessary documents with legal stamps and signatures.

8. The Food items to be procured under this bid shall be delivered to Samre, Kolla Temben, and Axum. The successful bidder will be fully responsible for delivering the food items to all designated locations at his/her own transportation cost. Bidders must therefore ensure that all quoted prices include transportation and delivery costs to the places mentioned below with their respective amounts.

Axum:

Locally produced white Wheat Grain=131.7 quintal
Locally produced dry green lentils(solid)= 13.17 quintal
Refined edible sunflower oil =395 litter

Kola-Temben

Locally produced white Wheat Grain=93.3 quintal
Locally produced dry green lentils(solid)= 9.33 quintal
Refined edible sunflower oil =208 litter

Samre

Locally produced white Wheat Grain=96.3 quintal
Locally produced dry green lentils(solid)= 9.63 quintal
Refined edible sunflower oil =202 litter

9. The wheat grain shall be locally produced /‘’SHEHAN’’/ which is clean, uniform in size, and consistent in color across all sacks.

10. The lentil shall be locally produced dry green lentils(solid) clean, uniform in size, and consistent in color across all sacks.

11. Both wheat grain and lentils shall be better if packed in 50 kg sacks. The packaging materials must not display any logo, color, or marking of other organizations.

12. All packaging materials shall be durable, properly sealed, and free from tears, leakage, or damage.

13. The edible oil must have an expiry date no earlier than 2027 G.C.

14. The winning seller must make a formal agreement with us in seven days from the time he/she is notified as a winner

15. Competitors are expected to download from online take the bidding formats from our office at Mekelle/ ,

16. Competitors will be submitting a collateral of Birr 1,000,000.00 in CPO form only written in the name of SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES from well-known legal banks on the date of the bid submission.

17. The bid process will be closed on April 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm and open at 3:30 pm in the presence of the bidding parties or with their legal representatives.

18. The winner will deliver the materials by his/her own transport cost to each project areas with their respective amounts

19. Our firm will not abide by the bidding process in case any better alternative is found, and this may include fully cancelation.

20. After opening the bid, we have the privilege to add or deduct the amounts up to 20% of the total amounts proposed.

21. The format for filling the price for bid is tabulated here below, and bidders must fill their unit price on this and put their signature along with their stamp.
