TRANSLATION OF ETHIOPIA’S FOOD SYSTEMS TRAINING MANUALS INTO THE AFAAN OROMO LANGUAGE
About gain
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people.
Objective
The objective of this assignment is to produce a high-quality, accurate, and culturally appropriate translation of the Ethiopian Food Systems Training Manuals from English into the Afaan Oromo language, ensuring that key concepts, messages, and technical content are clearly understood by Afaan Oromo-speaking stakeholders.
Submission
Originals should be submitted as follows:
One hard signed copy of the Proposal and an electronic copy containing the documents preferably in MS Word along with all the required information including the fee proposal. The proposal should reach GAIN at the address mentioned below:

Both individual consultants and firms are invited to submit their credentials for the provision of services, as outlined in the attached RFP.
Interested applicants should provide:
Relevant experience and qualifications in translation services Company profile (for firms) or CV (for individual consultants) Evidence of similar previous assignments
Proposed rate or financial offer
Additional requirements:
For Firms:
- Valid Trade License
- VAT Registration Certificate
- Signed proposal on official letterhead
- Completed Offer of Services Form
For Individual Consultants:
Completed Offer of Services Form
Applicable Withholding Tax (WHT) will be applied as per regulations
All submissions must follow the guidelines and requirements stated in the attached document.
Deadline
Completed proposals should be inserted in the available box at the GAIN office before May 4th 2026, Central European Time on 16:00 PM. Proposals submitted after this time will not be considered.
