Assignment Title: Geological & Geotechnical Investigation for the Prefeasibility & Feasibility Study of Dabus Hydropower Project.

Reference No.: MOWE-GOV-CS-DABUS-QCBS-02/2018

1. OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The main objective of the Services is to carry out the Geological and Geotechnical Investigations and provide the necessary input to the geotechnical characterization of the Project sites for the development of the Feasibility Study of the Dabus Hydropower Projects.

2. SCOPE OF THE CONSULTANCY SERVICE

The following main activities but not limited, should he carried out by the Consultant: Field Investigations, Geophysical Investigations, Laboratory Tests, Construction Material Investigations, Core Store, And Preparation Of Deliverables. In particular, the Consultant shall comply with the specific technical requirements stated in the following list of attached documents, Consisting of:

  • Annex A – Drawings
  • Annex B – Bill of Quantities
  • Annex C-Technical Specifications of Geotechnical investigations

3. DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT and CONTRACT:

The estimated Time for Completion of the Services is 180 (one hundred eighty) days. Out of the total duration days, it has been estimated that 30 (thirty) days will be utilized for the review process of the Draft of the Final Report including response to Client’s observations. Any observations from the Client and/or from the Consultant shall be returned to the Contractor within duration of 15 (fifteen) days from the receipt of the draft deliverables.

The Ministry of Water and Energy now invites eligible consulting firms (Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short-listing criterions are:

I. Core business and years in business

II. Qualification & Relevant Experience of the firm in the field of assignment (Specific Experience)

III. Organizational, managerial and technical capabilities of the firm.

IV. A consultant registered with EGP is preferred (Please attach the EGP Registration certificate).

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth edition 2020 the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection method set out in the Procurement Regulation (PPA).
