Catering Services

British Embassy Addis Ababa

The British Embassy Addis Ababa invites suitably qualified and experienced catering service providers to submit tenders for the provision of food-only catering services under a concession-based, user-pays model.

1. Description of the Services

The successful bidder will be required to provide catering services within the Embassy compound, including:

Daily restaurant food services

Dinner and brunch food services

Meeting and event catering

Outside and mobile catering

Detailed requirements are set out in the Statement of Requirement (SOR) included in the tender documentation.

2. Contract Type & Duration

Contract Type: Framework Agreement

Commercial Model: Concession / User-Pays

Contract Duration: Three (3) years

Expected Contract Start Date: 1 June 2026

No minimum volume or revenue is guaranteed.

3. Eligibility Requirements

Interested bidders must demonstrate:

Valid business registration and catering licence

Compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent)

Relevant experience delivering similar catering services

Ability to comply with Embassy security, health & safety, and emergency response requirements

Acceptance of the user-pays commercial model

4. Requesting Tender Documents

Tender documents must be requested by email only from: AddisAbabaCommercial@fcdo.gov.uk

Emails requesting tender documents must include the following subject line exactly as shown below: “Catering Services Tender – Request for Documents”

Emails submitted without this subject line may not be responded to.

5. Submission of Tenders

Tenders must be submitted in English

Technical and Commercial proposals must be submitted separately

Submissions must be received no later than 22 May 2026

Late submissions will not be accepted

Full submission instructions are provided in the ITT.

6. Clarifications

All clarification requests must be submitted in writing in accordance with the instructions in the ITT. Responses will be shared with all bidders to ensure fairness and transparency.

7. Evaluation & Award

The contract will be awarded to the bidder submitting the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT), based on:

Technical Quality – 70%

Commercial Pricing -30%

The British Embassy Addis Ababa is not obliged to accept the lowest-priced tender and reserves the right to cancel or amend the tender process at any time.
