Ambo Farmers’ Cooperative Union invites qualified and experienced consulting firms to conduct a Feasibility Study for the Establishment of a Maize Processing Factory.

Background

Ambo Farmers’ Cooperative Union is an organization established to serve primary cooperatives and improve the livelihoods of member farmers. The Union has 284 primary cooperative members with 156,133 farmer members.

To enhance value addition and market opportunities for maize produced by its members, the Union plans to establish a maize processing factory. Therefore, the Union intends to hire a qualified consulting firm to undertake a comprehensive feasibility study.

Objective of the Consultancy

The objective of the assignment is to assess the technical, financial, economic, market, and environmental feasibility of establishing the proposed maize processing factory.

Scope of the Assignment

  • The consultant will conduct a feasibility study including:
  • Market analysis of maize products
  • Raw material supply assessment
  • Technical feasibility and technology selection
  • Factory capacity determination
  • Financial and economic viability analysis
  • Environmental and social impact assessment
  • Risk analysis and recommendations

Qualification Requirements

Interested consulting firms should have:

  • Proven experience in feasibility studies of agro-processing or industrial projects
  • Qualified professionals in agricultural economics, agribusiness, engineering, finance, and environmental studies
  • At least 5 years of relevant consulting experience

Interested eligible consulting firms may obtain the Request for Proposal (RFP) document from the Marketing Department of Ambo Farmers’ Cooperative Union (in Ambo Town) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 500 Ethiopian Birr during working hours. All documents must be submitted on the 17th calendar (Consecutive) days from the date of this announcement at 4:00 A.M local time. Technical Proposals will be opened on the same day at 5:00 A.M local time in the presence of bidders and their representatives.
