BID ANNOUNCEMENT FOR
INVITATION FOR NATIONAL OPEN BIDDING

The Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) hereby invites eligible and qualified bidders to submit proposals for the supply of a Total Station for surveying, railway alignment, slope works. access road construction, and related engineering activities.

Procurement Requirement

The procurement is for two (2) Total Station Instruments that comply with the technical requirements specified in the bid document. The required instruments shall meet the technical specifications based on the Leica Flex Line TS10 or equivalent specification.

Key Functions and Intended Uses

• Angle (Available in 1″, 2″, 3″ and 5″ variants) and distance measurement using an Electronic Distance Meter (EDM) and precision telescope, with and without prisms.
• 3D data workflow using field software for real-time 3D views, layout and mapping activities.
• Automatic instrument-height measurement using a built-in laser to reduce setup errors, where the Auto
• Height option is provided.
• Data transfer and connectivity through Bluetooth, WLAN and available mobile-internet options.
• Application in railway alignment, slope work, access road construction, land surveying, civil engineering and building construction.

4. Renewed Trade License for 2018 E.C

5. A copy of the purchase receipt for tender document must be attached. Bidders that do not purchase the tender document and do not include a copy of their receipt will be disqualified from the tender.

6. All Bidders must submit a bid security bond through a bank certified payment order (CPO) or unconditional bank guarantee. Only from banks certified by National Bank of Ethiopia.

Bid Submission Deadline

1. The bid along with the bid security, must be submitted to Ethiopian Railways Corporation, a hall at the block 10 (engineering procurement team), starting from the date of the tender announcement on REPORTER NEWSPAPER until the tender closing date, which will be on the 10th day of airing, at 4:00 Am (morning), which is September 23-2026 G.C and will be opened at 4:30 Am of the same day. If it is not a working day, it will be opened the next working day at the same hours.

2. The bid is valid for 30 calendar days from the date of bid opening.

3. Bid security (as per the Bid document) must be addressed to the employer and valid for 28 days after bid validity date.

4. Bidders must submit their Eligibility. Technical proposal and financial proposal in a separate envelops.

5. Late Bids shall be rejected.

Submission process

6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 500.00 ETB at the Cashier’s Office, Office No. 32, ERC Head Office.

7. Bidders are instructed to fill, sign and seal all the forms of the bid documents. Failure to fulfill this instruction may result in automatic rejection.

8. All bids must include 15% VAT (Value Added Tax) on the summary of Price Quotation.

9. Ethiopian Railways Corporation reserves the right to reject any all bids, to wave informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the service, otherwise as may be for its best interest.
