The Embassy of the United States of America, will hold an anime auction featuring Furniture, appliances, and other items.

How it Works

1. Register online at http://online-auction.state.gov/ to bid on and view items.

2. Scroll down and select “Addis Ababa” from the list of us. embassies currently holding auctions.

3. Once the auction opens registered bidders may begin bidding on any available lots.

4.All participants must read and agree to abide by the policy statement and regulations posted on the website.

Full Payment

  • Winning bidders must pay the full winning bid amount to Account No. ETB1502100010050 at the Bank of Abyssinia. The U.S. Embassy does not accept payments directly. A 20% guaranty payment is due the same day the bidder receives official notification from the U.S. Embassy, The remaining balance must be paid in full within 2 days of receiving that notification. After completing full payment, winning bidders should scan and email the deposit slip to addisgsoauctions@state.gov.

Important:

  • Winners of multiple lots must pay for all lots in full-partial payment or selecting only some lois is not permitted. Winners who decline their winning bids will be barred from U.S. Embassy auctions for three years.

Collection and Removal of Items

  • Winning bidders should bring an official bank receipt. notification email, and valid ID. They must provide their own labor and transportation to remove items. The U.S. Embassy will not assist with removal. Items must be collected within three working days after the payment deadline. Failure to remove items within this timeframe will result in forfeiture of the items. All items are in the U.S.. Embassy warehouse in the Jackros area.

Requirements

1. Participants must be at least 18 years old and bring valid identification (passport/ID) to collect items.

2. All bidders must arrange personal transportation for their purchases the U.S. Embassy will not provide transportation.

3. Any duties, taxes, transfer fees, or other official charges levied by the Government of Ethiopia are the sole responsibility of the buyer and will not be deducted from or credited to the sale price.

4. All items are sold “AS IS,” “WHERE IS,” and on a “NON- The U.S. Embassy makes no guarantees regarding the condition or functionality of any item.

5. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in the U.S. Embassy canceling the bid and pursuing administrative measures, including forfeiture of payment.

6. The U.S. Government reserves the right to:

  • Withdraw any item from sale prior to its removal from U.S. Government control.
  • Reject any bid deemed not commensurate with the item’s value, or any bid showing evidence of connivance, collusion, or bribery.
