SOS Children’s Villages International is the largest non-governmental, non-political, and non-denominational charitable child welfare organization in the world. Founded in 1949 by Hermann Gmeiner in Imst, Austria, SOS-Kinderdorf International was established to support children in need-particularly those who had lost their homes, families, and sense of security as a result of the Second World War. SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia (SOSCVE) is a member of SOS-Kinderdorf International. The first SOS Children’s Village in Ethiopia was opened in Mekelle in 1974. Today, SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia operates programs in Addis Ababa, Harar, Mekelle, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Gode, and Jimma.

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia (SOSCVE) has planned to sale used vehicles listed below in an open tender/Auction hereby invite potential suppliers to submit their offer according to the below Details, Instructions to Bidders, and General Terms and Conditions of Purchase as described hereunder.

Conditions and Procedures:

• All vehicles are sold in their present condition (“as is & where is”) on the basis of no guarantee or warranty given as to the condition of usability.
• Bids should be delivered on their respective locations.
• Lots cannot be divided or combined, and prices should be submitted for each lot separately.
• The bid winner or buyer will be responsible for paying taxes customs duties and other charges of a public nature levied by the government and must be paid to the government when assessed, Except for Organizations or Companies with duty- free privilege. SOS Children’d Villages in Ethiopia bears no responsibility for these charges in any manner.
• All Lots can be viewed during working hours from Monday 25th of August to 05 September 2025, in morning working hours on their respective places mentioned.
• Everybody interested in bidding for the vehicles shall submit his/ her offer in a sealed Envelope bearing an official company seal, and marked by the “bidders’ name, address, and the tender reference number and title as stated above. Tenders must be submitted in the bid box prepared for these purposes at SOS Children’s Villages in Ethiopia
• National office located at Bole Atlas in front of Mado Hotel, (Tel: 0116611655) on or before 05 September 2025 04:00 PM/10:00 Local time.

• The opening of the bids is not public; it will take place at the SOS Children’s villages in Ethiopia disposal committee within ten working days after the auction closing date by the staff of SOS Children’s Villages in Ethiopia
• SOS Children’d Villages in Ethiopia has the right to reject any or all bids without explaining the reason.
• Each bidder has to deposit 10% of his/her offer amount, by the name of the SOS Children’s Villages in Ethiopia as a bid bond, by CPO cheque (CPOs only issued by Commercial Bank of Ethiopia CBE is accepted), which will be deducted from the sales price, if the bidder able to win.
• Full payment and sales agreement must be done within 15 days after the auction result announcement date. Tax and duties must be paid within 15 days from the date a letter is issued. Vehicle handover will be done only after the fulfillment of the above-mentioned formalities.
• The bid bond will not be refunded if the auction winner doesn’t fulfill all mentioned conditions or refuses to pay within a period of 15 days of the auction result announcement date (will result in forfeiture of the bid bond deposit).
• The bid bond CPO of the non-winners will be refunded within five days after the announcement of the auction result.
• Anybody who does not agree with the above-mentioned conditions and procedures shall not bid.
